  1.What is a Trademark?

  A trademark is any word, phrase, symbol, design, or any combination thereof, used to distinguish the products or services of one person or organization from those of others. trademarks come to represent not only actual products and services, but the reputation of the producer. As such, they are considered valuable intellectual properties and a key component of the goodwill of a business. A registered trademark can be protected through legal proceedings from misuse and imitation.

  .List of goods to be covered by trademark application and international class,if known

  3.registration procedure

  1) .Search and Advisory

  Please make sure you give :

  full details of your mark and the goods or services you are interested in;

  your full postal address and daytime phone number.

  2) Submit your application

  Once you have check everything the application required, submit your application and the Trademark Office will send you a receipt in about 3 months.

  3)Examination

  If you have paid the correct fee,the Macao Trademark Office will examine your application, and either:

  confirm that your application is acceptable, or

  send you a written Examination Report which will list all the objections against it.

  4)Publication

  Once the Trademark Office has accepted your trademark they will publish it in Trade Marks Journal and write to tell you the publication date of that Journal. After your mark is published, there is a three-month period in which anybody may make observations on its acceptance or oppose its registration. If nobody objects to it, your mark will become registered.

  5)Registration

  The approximate period for obtaining the certificate, without Official objection or Opposition, is about 16 months.
